Nancy Fast
Nancy Fast,
Administrative Assistant, Office Manager
I love the name of our organization, Growing and Coping Together, it describes perfectly what we humans do every day. Throughout life we learn from our experiences, we stretch ourselves finding better ways of coping with what life brings us. I enjoy my work as the Administrative Assistant to Ms. Kanaka K. Henry. I also act as GCT’s Office Manager. I truly look forward to meeting new people and serving their needs. I bring to the mission of GCT my own experience of having loved ones in “The System.” I understand how an incarceration affects the whole family support system.
My work experience has largely been in Fine Art and Interior Design. However my volunteer background has been quite varied. Over the years, I have worked in special education department at the elementary school level, worked as a teacher assistant, led a program for teens to learn to minister to developmentally disabled adults and children. I have organized social and charitable activities for youth, answered a Crisis Line, visited prisons, worked in outreaches to the hungry and homeless, performed caregiving for the disabled. I worked for an organization that prevents the abuse and neglect of children by providing families support, education and treatment.
My daughter and I have a home in Lowell, Arkansas with two small dogs named Rudy and Pumpkin Pie, and 5 parakeets. My son, Alan, daughter-in-law, Lisa and grandson Tate live in Colorado. My hobbies are arts & crafts, studying the Bible, reading non-fiction and because we are new to Arkansas, I love exploring NWA with my daughter Lauren.
